Fish Tank

I listened to Robert Hilburn’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Times radio program on KCSN.  He played songs by Randy Newman and Harry Nilsson.  I liked “Political Science,” “Marie,” “Sail Away,” “One,” and “Everybody’s Talkin’.”  I watched “Fish Tank,” one of those British films about a troubled teenager.  Somehow, I didn’t think that music and dance would be this girl’s ticket to a better life, like a Billy Eliot.  Her name is Mia.  Her mother’s boyfriend seems to have a positive effect, but you do sense there is going to be trouble ahead.  There’s got to be something wrong here.  There was one amusing scene with catching a fish.  It was a good movie, although I’ve been tired of seeing movies about teenagers for a long time.  “Juno” didn’t change my mind.
